MY PHYSICAL BODY JOURNEY
Me when I have been at my absolute physical peak as an athlete or a sportsman or simply at my asthetic peak in the gym. Pictures of moments when I can say I was at the top of my game physically.
As a pure natural athlete and sportsman I definitely feel I was in my peak years between the ages of 27 years old to 31 years old.
I feel that my body became of age at 25 years old where my body really became a mans body (in a sporting sense) and my athleticism, explosiveness, speed, power and endurance kept building from there.
In my early 20s I was very fast, light on my feel and raw, but once I hit my mid 20s it was a whole new game, I became of age.
In my mid 20s I relied so much on my natural fitness, I took it for granted, at times I let myself down and I let my body down. I abused my body, I partied hard, I had moments where I lost control of my body, both mentally and physically, I shamed myself and I didn’t give myself justice but I always bounced back and kept fighting the mental battle that kept effecting me physically.
During my physical peak years I wanted to do something good and positive using my natural fitness and I decided to raise money running marathons for charity. This was perfect for me as I could challenge myself physically to attempt a sub 3 hour marathon, the holy grail for amateur marathon runners and I was able to raise thousands of pounds for charities close to my heart and people I care about so that I could help others in need of help and support. I am very proud to have been involved in raising money for charities to help other people.
Once I hit my early 30s and approaching my mid 30s, my body has changed, miles on the clock, particularly my legs and I am past my peak, however, I’m still very fit, despite not looking chiselled, it’s a mature type of veteran fitness that still gives me explosive bursts when I need it most. I really feel that this period is the twilight of my competitive sporting fitness years.
I believe my body will keep changing, keep developing and once the athletic decline hits, probably in my late 30s, I’m mature enough to combat that decline with new ways of training and competing.
